Batam is a small Indonesia island near Singapore.
It took only around 1 hour ferry ride.
The queue at 7am at ferry counter
Although we had booked a Batam package with a travel agency, we were not able to get our tickets and not listed in the passenger list. Such a spoils! Luckily the ticket office was able to issue tickets for us on the spot.
Depart from Harbourfront ferry terminal
Arrive at Sekupang terminal
Batam’s time was 1 hour slower than Singapore time. Thus, it seems like we have extra 1 hour in Batam. We followed a guided tour to hop around in Batam. The tour guide brought us to have some sight seeing and introduce local delicacies for us. ( most of the photos were not in blurQ’s hand yet!)

Seafood lunch as included in our $79/person deal
After 1 day of sight seeing, we reached our hotel finally. It was a giant ship. =)
Front view/ Room view/ sea view behind Pasific Palace/ hotel night view
Their service is good. All the staff were wearing sailors or navy uniforms! A pity blurQ didn’t took their photos to share with mushrooms. Room was spacious and comfortable. Hotel facilities were up to par although they were ages. For night owls, this hotel equip with the most popular pub in the town! BlurQ not able to experience it herself but did try Batam famous Balinese massage in Pasific Palace. It was very relaxing with cheering and friendly service.
We went for window shopping on the next day. Some items were really cheap compare with those in Singapore. However, most of them were actually almost pricy when convert to SGD. Maybe it was because we shop at tourist zone. Haha. Batam food was comparatively cheap. A sumptuous lunch only cost us around $5/person!
A short and recharged trip =D
